Copenhagen FinTech

Copenhagen FinTech er en innovativ vækstorganisation, der arbejder ud fra visionen om at skabe et dansk væksteventyr indenfor fintech. Vi vil skabe et dansk fintech økosystem i nordisk topklasse. Økosystemet skal understøtte Danmarks førende position inden for udviklingen af digitale finansielle løsninger og skabe de optimale rammebetingelser for den fortsatte udvikling af FinTech i Danmark. Et centralt initiativ er i den forbindelse, at foreningen også etablerer og driver et co-working space kaldet Copenhagen FinTech Lab – se mere her: http://www.cphfintechlab.io/

Derudover er Copenhagen FinTech fortsat en netværksorganisation for offentlige og private virksomheder, organisationer samt uddannelses- og forskningsinstitutioner, der arbejder på eller har interesse i finans-it og fintech-området. Copenhagen FinTech skal i den sammenhæng stimulere forskning, innovation, udvikling og uddannelse med et internationalt perspektiv på finans-it og fintech-området. Foreningen kan i den sammenhæng udarbejde analyser og rapporter, og fungere som vært for projekter, innovationsnetværk og forskningsinitiativer på området.

Innovationsnetværket for Finans IT og Copenhagen FinTech arbejder med fem særlige fokusområder. Virksomheder, der deltager aktivt, får derfor priviligeret adgang til viden og kontakter. Det kan være match making til konkrete projekter, finde projektpartnere;
og skaffe ressourcer til udvikling af forsknings-og innovationssamarbejde med universiteterne. Du kan læse mere om de fem fokusområder for netværket her​.

​​Australia looks at a new initiative that forces banks to build APIs to share data by 2018. Hereby empowering consumers. “We are strongly in favour of ensuring that consumers have better access to data and that third parties can then use it to offer services and identify opportunitys” Peter Kell, Deputy Chairman of ASIC.  The committee believes that there is a strong case for increasing access to, what the banks themselves regard as “customers” data. This includes, for example, a customer’s transaction history, account balances, credit card usage, and mortgage payments.

 
​The fintech industry is starting to mature. Shifting market conditions, regulatory challenges and altering consumer trends are going to have a large impact on the industry. The Start-up and Scale-up Initiative aims to combine all the possibilities that already exist in the EU, but plans on including a new focus on venture capital investment, insolvency law, and taxation. However, while the EC notes that there isn’t a lack of new ideas in Europe, it highlights the fact that many firms fail to make it beyond the first few years.​ 
SETL, Deloitte and Metro Bank have successfully demonstrated a contactless blockchain smartcard retail payment system for 100 customers of the UK-based challenger bank. The project was facilitated in the FCA Regulatory Sandbox, which demonstrates the benefits of the a sandbox environment, as it provides a ‘safe space’ in which businesses can test innovative products, services, business models and delivery mechanisms in a live environment while ensuring that consumers are appropriately protected. ​
